Senior Paralegal (Leasehold & Enfranchisement)

Remote | £32,500 salary (pro rata)

Part Time (2-3 days) | Permanent

About us

Peppercorn Law is a specialist leasehold and residential property firm, acting primarily for leaseholders and advising on lease extensions, collective enfranchisement, right to manage claims, and rights of first refusal.

Established in 2025, the firm is growing rapidly and is built to deliver high-quality work in a way that is sustainable and flexible. It operates as a fully remote practice, using modern systems and structured processes to keep matters organised, transparent, and progressing efficiently.

The firm will shortly be working towards B Corp status and is already punching above it’s weight in terms of clients won from the more established firms in this area of law.

The role

This is a part-time and fully remote role where you will work closely with the founder on a range of matters. In a typical day you’ll be responsible for sending out quotes in response to enquiries, setting up files, ordering titles and leases from the Land Registry, drafting section 42 notices, reviewing section 45 counter notices, reviewing draft leases, liaising with other law firms and legal departments, preparing completion statements and handling completions under supervision. There is scope for the role to develop into a full-time position over time, if that suits both parties.

The person

This role would suit someone looking for flexibility and a supportive team, who’s happy working independently. You’ll be organised, reliable, and able to use your initiative to solve problems as they come up. There is no formal level of qualification required; experience in residential conveyancing would be helpful, but it’s not essential. A legal qualification with modules in property law would also be useful. We see this role as being a good fit for a person with some property law knowledge, who is keen to add the niche knowledge require to handle leasehold enfranchisement cases.

You should feel comfortable using tools like Outlook, Word and Excel, and be open to learning new systems. You will have access to PLC for research tasks and drafting and will be asked to help maintain the firm’s precedent bank and suggest improvements and additions.

As long as you’re confident picking things up, you’ll be supported in getting up to speed. If you like having clear systems in place and tend to approach your work in a calm, structured way, you’ll fit in well here. We operate a paperless policy wherever possible, which supports our fully remote working culture.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience with legal processes, including file management and post-completion work

  • Confident in using technology, including case management systems, Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Ability to work in a structured, methodical way and follow established processes

  • Good client communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Familiarity with Land Registry applications and handling requisitions

  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment

  • Proactive approach to progressing files and keeping matters moving

  • Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of Clio

  • Experience in leasehold enfranchisement work

  • Experience drafting statutory notices (e.g. s.42, s.13, s.5 notices)

  • Experience using Practical Law or similar research tools

  • Experience handling completions and preparing completion statements

  • Experience working in a small firm or similar self-directed environment

If you believe you meet the criteria, then you would love to hear from you. If you believe you would add value to our organisation but don’t meet all the criteria we have laid out in this advert, then we would still love to hear from you. Please explain the value you would bring in your application.

Application process

To apply, please send a CV and a short covering note outlining your experience and interest in the role to info@peppercornlaw.co.uk by 8 June 2026.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an initial video interview to discuss their experience and the role in more detail. The interview will include a short exercise to demonstrate your skills required for the role.

This will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions and gain a better understanding of how the practice operates on a day-to-day basis.

Please note we do not accept CVs from recruitment companies at this time. Only direct applications will be considered.
